Camden Agricultural Youth Expo offers hands-on experience

Young people with an interest in agriculture will have the opportunity to develop practical skills and explore a range of agricultural activities at the Camden Agricultural Youth Expo on October 17.

The day-long event will be held at the Cattle Sheds at Onslow Oval, with places still available for participants aged 10 to 24.

The expo will feature a range of competitions, livestock activities and hands-on training, giving young people the chance to gain experience and learn more about the agricultural industry.

Competitions will include Junior Judging, the Young Farmers Challenge, Young Auctioneers, Alpaca Parading, Beef and Dairy Cattle Parading, Poultry Judging, Show Preparation and Egg Judging, as well as Sheep Handling and Parading.

Participants can also try practical activities covering fencing skills, soil and meat judging, livestock handling and behaviour, agricultural reproduction and agricultural technology.

The expo aims to provide young people with an opportunity to explore different areas of agriculture, develop new skills and connect with others in the industry.

Attendance costs $15 per person, including lunch, with bookings closing on Wednesday, October 14.
