From the Editor...

This week, one of Wollondilly's own, Buxton RFS volunteer Kim Hill was named NSW Volunteer of the Year for her helping the community impacted by the Green Wattle Creek bush fire and fundraising for a playground in memory of the two Horsley Park RFS firefighters who lost their lives in the area.

Finally the NSW government is looking at a Picton bypass and the community is being asked to make a comment on the route. This is an important one  - look at the route and have your say.

New social and affordable housing  was opened in Camden and is providing much needed accommodation for older and single parent people within the local area. It's a great initiative, but sadly more is needed as there is a big demand for this type of housing.

Do you know about the mural that is outside Camden Hospital,  find out the story behind the colourful landmark that many people have seen while passing the hospital, but probably don't  know anything about - it's on the back page.

A reminder we like to receive readers' letters for publication, if you have something to share with the community drop us a line. Also big thank to everyone who has contributed to Local Independent Journalism.
